Seminary classes online? Online education has a baby-history compared to traditional-on campus education, but one thing is sure. It’s here to stay and will continue to grow. This is confirmed by a number of recent studies that look at online education developments every year. For example, A 2018 Mirasee world survey on online education providers reveals that online education enrolments have remained quite steady since 2016. Plus, almost half of online students achieved their learning objectives “to a great extent” and about 30% say they got their desired results “to a great extent.”

Online high school tutoring is primarily geared toward students who need extra help in specific areas. However, these programs also offer courses and assignments designed to help students improve their standardized test taking skills, especially as they pertain to the SAT and ACT. In addition to programs that assign students to a licensed educator, many online tutoring platforms offer peer-to-peer instruction, in which both pupil and tutor are high school students.

The Certificate in Church Planting and Revitalization prepares pastors and lay people for church contexts in which a fresh approach is necessary. Besides the logistics of arranging a face-to-face meeting with a tutor, there are other factors that may deter students from seeking help. In an independent study to explore the effect that a learning environment has on the behaviours of students, it was discovered that: Students prefer to seek help electronically from their teachers rather than meet in person; Students whose classes have a web component seek help more often than students in a traditional class with no web resource; and Students report that they feel less threatened to seek help using an electronic system.

WBS offers two types of seminary classes online: forum-based and real-time. Forum-based: Through the use of Populi, our online platform, professors and students learn from lectures, share resources, engage in conversations, and submit assignments. Students have maximum flexibility in these courses to do the work and submit assignments in ways that is most convenient for them.
