Meelad Dezfooli didn’t let anything stop him from his dream career. While still in grade school, Dezfooli began working at his father’s local flooring store.

Sadly, when the recession hit in the late 2000s, his father had no alternative but to close his stores and retire. Dezfooli, who had believed he would one day run the family business, was despondent.

“By the time I turned 18, everything was starting to break apart, the market was in ruins, many firms defaulted, and my dream was taken from me,” he recalls.

Forced to switch gears, Dezfooli opened a Persian restaurant. Even though he found some success, he still desperately missed the flooring business. “I realized I loved the industry and the people around me,” he says. “I was nostalgic for the culture, the employees.”

Over the next five years, Dezfooli worked over 12 hours a day, seven days a week, doing anything to save the money needed to start his own flooring company. The endless, grueling hours paid off. By 2015, he was back in the flooring business, founding Best Buy Flooring in Henderson, Nevada. The business has flourished and expanded to multiple locations.

Now that he’s the owner of a highly successful business, Dezfooli shows his gratitude by helping local heroes. He offers generous discounts to veterans, police officers, and other service people.

“After what they’ve done for our country, it’s my honor to give them a better price,” he says. Not one to forget his roots, Dezfooli made a point of hiring several of his father’s former employees, some of whom came from troubled backgrounds.

“He had employees who may have had a small [police] record, but they were some of the best people,” he notes. “My father always taught me to give people a second chance. And I know as much as anyone the blessings of a second chance.” Read more information on https://www.inc.com/synchrony/built-from-the-ground-floor-up.html.

A few recommendations on flooring design

Vinyl Flooring – Pros: Vinyl flooring is especially good at fending off wear, dents, scratches, discoloration from sunlight, and stains. It’s also waterproof, so it’s a great alternative to tile in wet rooms such as baths and kitchens, where it provides a forgiving surface underfoot. This flooring type comes in two main varieties: traditional vinyl and luxury vinyl flooring (LVF). Both are made of polyvinyl chloride (PVC), but LVF is thicker and more rigid, and it typically has more protective top layers. Regular vinyl comes in rolls and is glued in place; LVF typically comes in tiles or planks that click together for easy installation. Higher quality LVF can do a good job of mimicking the look of stone, tile, or wood.

Engineered Wood Flooring – Pros: Because engineered wood is made of thin layers of wood sandwiched with adhesives, it can withstand higher levels of humidity and is less likely to expand and contract than solid wood flooring. This flooring uses a thin veneer of real wood or bamboo over structural plywood, making it a cost-effective choice. Well-installed, high-quality engineered wood can be as durable as solid wood. Cons: Engineered wood performed about the same in our denting and wear tests as did solid wood and laminate, but fewer engineered wood products earned top marks for wear. Depending on the thickness of the top “wear layer,” some engineered wood flooring can be refinished once or twice, and some cannot be refinished. (According to the National Wood Flooring Association, wear layers of less than 2.5 mm usually can be recoated but not completely refinished.) If you anticipate that you may need to refinish your engineered wood flooring, check with the manufacturer or retailer before you buy.

Several recommendations on flooring materials

Vinyl Flooring – Pros: Vinyl flooring is especially good at fending off wear, dents, scratches, discoloration from sunlight, and stains. It’s also waterproof, so it’s a great alternative to tile in wet rooms such as baths and kitchens, where it provides a forgiving surface underfoot. This flooring type comes in two main varieties: traditional vinyl and luxury vinyl flooring (LVF). Regular vinyl comes in rolls and is glued in place; LVF typically comes in tiles or planks that click together for easy installation. Higher quality LVF can do a good job of mimicking the look of stone, tile, or wood.

Advances in flooring materials have broadened options at a range of prices. For example, today’s porcelain tile can closely mimic the look and texture of wood, though it’s far more durable. High-end vinyl planks can imitate tropical woods like koa, mango, and teak, or wide, hand-hewn hardwood boards. Sustainable flooring options include linoleum, bamboo, hempwood, cork, and even cement tiles made with carbon recovered from factory emissions. Among solid hardwoods, domestic species like white oak, red oak, walnut, and maple are growing in popularity. “We’re also seeing wider products and longer lengths,” he says. “The average hardwood plank is now 7 to 7½ inches wide.”

Premium dover white marble suppliers in Bangalore: Natural stone comes in many different colours, hues, textures, shapes and sizes, making it one of the most versatile materials used in home construction. It can also be integrated into virtually any style, from contemporary to a more traditional design. Perhaps one of the fascinating things is that it is so unique; no two stones are the same, meaning you will always have a distinct design to your own personal taste and style. Homeowners have found creative ways to incorporate natural stone in virtually every room of their home – a feat few other building materials can’t match. Also, natural stone ages well, retaining its natural beauty and luster with minimal care. This is unlike many manufactured mediums that don’t fare well over time and need to be replaced rather consistently. Discover even more information on italian marble price. Both granite and marble are heat-resistant. Both types of stones were formed through heat, either through volcanic activity or enormous amounts of heat and pressure. Typically, hot pots will not bother either stone, and neither will discolor when used near heat. Always use caution with hot pots in the kitchen, regardless of how well your stone handles the heat. Decomposing granite, which is found in soil, has been known to give off radon 2 gas. So naturally, some people are concerned about using granite counters in their home. There is no evidence, however, that either granite or marble slabs give off radon 2 gas in the home. If you are concerned, radon 2 test kits are available, which can detect the gas.

Marble has long been used in European kitchens, even though this gorgeous stone can stain and discolor with use. And despite its reputation as high-maintenance, its classic, luxurious look has arrived in many American kitchens. “People like marble for its natural beauty, even though it can show wear and tear over the years,” says expert Michael Bruno, a salesperson with the tile and stone company Ann Sacks. “Every house in Europe has a stone countertop—it’s only in this country that people think everything has to look brand-new.”

When we built our home two years ago, I told the designer that the bathrooms weren’t my first priority. Since we had limited resources and a tight budget, I planned to DIY our bathroom upgrades later, when it was more realistic. Now that time has come. I’ve been focusing on designing a beautiful guest bathroom, and I’ve found some impressive DIY bathroom upgrades that I didn’t realize were possible! Most of them involve very little money, and minimal work. These do-it-yourself bathroom makeovers are perfect as a long-term addition, or even as an inexpensive but stylish revamp to hold you over until you can do a full remodel.

Maintenance: Sealants are used on both granite and marble to prevent staining and etching. Marble requires sealing much more frequently i.e. twice a year (recommended by professionals) whereas for granite sealing once every two years is sufficient. The actual requirement for resealing depends on how heavily the surface was used and how regularly the stone’s cleaning was done. Discover even more information at hmgstones.com.

Getting to Know Marble and Granite: These are natural stone materials, and both are porous. If you want the technical details, marble is a metamorphic rock formed from recrystallized carbon. It is formed out of limestone that is subjected to intense pressure and heat due to tectonic shifting in the earth’s crust. On the other hand, granite is an igneous rock composed of grains of compressed quartz, feldspar, mica and similar materials. This means that granite is slightly harder than marble, but both offer reasonably good durability.
