A medical cannabis card or medical marijuana card is a state-issued identification card that enables a patient with a doctor’s recommendation to obtain, possess, or cultivate cannabis for medicinal use despite marijuana’s lack of the normal Food and Drug Administration testing for safety and efficacy. Is CBD legal? This question is a little tricky. According to the 2018 Farm Bill, CBD derived from domestic commercial hemp containing less than 0.3% THC is legal in America.
